This specialist fully accredited 2- day training course has been developed by UKCPAS for organisations such as local Authorities and Registered Social Landlords who need to protect their workers and contractors who are actively involved in void property maintenance.
Common associated infections such as Hepatitis A, Hep B, Hep C and HIV can result from stick injury and may have fatal consequences
This comprehensive fully accredited 2 day training course is delivered in blended format
Day 1 AM: In the morning learners are taken through the CTW Bio Hazard training.
Day 1 PM: In the afternoon training session learners will be educated on Universal precautions, percutaneous exposures, behaviour patterns of intravenous drug users, which will include “tell tale signs”, how to operate search tools, where to look, how to safely handle and dispose of contaminated items.
Learners will then have a period of practice to implement the skills and knowledge learned.
Day 2 Learners “Go Live” and will be assessed for competence in a contaminated dwelling, where they will have to search / sweep and decontaminate the property.
On successful completion of the training the learners will gain certification and a photo ID badge their information will then be logged on the UKCPAS National Sharps Register. This information can then be provided to insurance companies or client companies if required.
